A Southern Styled Yard

Do you consider your outdoor space a place that you can decorate?  To be completely honest, I've never thought much about this short of potted plants in the expected areas, bird baths and a fountain. I could really use some help in this area so, I enlisted my friend for some much needed inspiration.   After sharing her both her front and screened porch, I ask Nadine if I could share her yardscaping...not lawn but yard!  She made me promise to come back when everything is in bloom and you know I said ..YES!  The wrought iron arbor welcomes you through a path around the property.

This spot is quite possibly my fav in her entire yard. I can just see taking the kids pics on that bench... dressed in their Easter attire!
This flag stone path leads to her back yard.

I have to point out the cloche in the flower bed.  When I saw this I just had a fit, underneath were pansies.  It was just unexpected to have a cloche in a flower bed and that is the reason I just love it!
Please notice her attention to details even in her outside space, her use of antiques just cause me to squeal with delight!  The lantern, small urn and birds rest on the table.  Lions guard the door.  If this were my house I would have coffee on that bench each and every morning...and afternoon!

The trellis is darling and the horse head....who would think to put a horse head in their yard?!  Swoon worthy spot for sure!

I will leave you with this view, this is for sure the piece de resistance for the entire yard scape.
Last fall I went to my first estate sale and picked up a bird bath and 2 rather large urns.  If the weather holds this week, I hope to place those urns and plant something in them.....it will have to be deer resistant as the deer have taken a liking to almost everything I've planted thus far!
