Pier 1 Fall Inspiration

As most of you know I have had a very part time gig at Pier 1 Imports for almost 2 years.  I really enjoy each season as it arrives into the store.  So today as I walked around helping customers I had the idea that it might be fun to share with all of you, just in case you haven't been into a store recently. These are  a few pics of my fav Fall merchandise.

Getting Into Shape

Some time ago I began to experience problems with my lower back.  To be honest, I just figured this was a right of passage as I age, along with standing on the tile floor at Pier 1.  But as the discomfort lingered I made the decision to visit my orthopaedist.  Of course they did xrays and what they found came as a surprise.
Clearly, I could see for myself on the xray that the last part of my spine looked different than further up my back.  A degenerative spine was my diagnosis.  For those that don't know what that is it is a gradual loss of of normal structure and function of the spine over time.   The Doctors advice was to strengthen my core. This was important he said.

Bamboo At Last

Almost as soon as I started actively antiquing, I fell head over heels for bamboo.  When most think of bamboo I doubt they think of it in an antique point of reference.  I'd say most think of it in a tropical locale.  The price tag has always been a little on the steep side for any bamboo tables, shelves or mirrors I've come across.

Back earlier in the summer at one of our fav spots, I saw it.  As I get close to the table I think to myself you know this thing is gonna be at least $400...they usually are.  I lift the tag and see the price

35 bucks!

Coach Pat Dye Visits

It was a typical Saturday morning.  The house was a wreck, I had been rearranging stuff on my kitchen counters and wiping them down with Clorox.  The kids were up and had breakfast but no shower yet.  I still had on my pjs and hadn't even ran a hairbrush thru my hair.  Then Honey calls.  He had gone to breakfast with Coach Pat Dye.  Coach Dye is one of Auburn University's most beloved football coaches, I had watched countless AU football games with him on the sidelines calling the shots.  Honey calls and says his brother and Coach Dye are headed to our house.  "You've probably got about 35 minutes before they get there" he says.   My response I am sure was something like "you have got to be kidding me." But at that moment I am struggling for a reality check...Pat Dye is coming to "my" house!!!!

35 MINUTES YA'LL

I yell to the kids that Coach Dye is on his way and they need to take a shower quickly as if their lives depend on it!  I head to the bathroom thinking what do I do....will he come inside or just be outside....do I wash my hair...makeup yes or no.  I had no time for a shower so I dumped my head over into the bathroom sink and didn't even wait for the water to warm(no lie).  In 15 minutes I had "washed my hair" if you can call it that, dried my hair and applied make up...right down to the eye liner.
