A Silver and Gold Christmas Tablescape

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us I am so excited to bring on Christmas!!! Ya'll know that I love a tablescape and especially at Christmas time. This might be my all time fav Christmas tablescape ever! I always adore mixing silver and gold pieces, so that is exactly what I did!

As I began to gather pieces from my inventory aka stash, I knew that I wanted the silver/gold magnolia placemat to be a base, but it still felt like it needed more so I added the silver and gold placemat boards that you all have seen numerous times. I started building from that point.

Inside each box that sits on the salad plate guests will find a small treat. These boxes are from Pier 1 and are available in silver and gold.

Our wedding china, Montclair by Lenox anchors most of my place settings this season as the Christmas tree decor doesn't lend very well to reds this year.

After much debate I made the decision to keep the place settings as a focal point and to just use my silver candle holders as the only centerpiece.

This tablescape will welcome my girlfriends early this next week! My goal is to always make those that I'm close to feel as special as possible!

New Year's Eve Tablescape 2017

It has been several years since we rang in the New Year any where other than home. Since we are almost always home we typically invite friends over for dinner. This year I've already started planning the food along with the tablescape.

There is a dish that Honey simply loves called Party Chicken. I shared the recipe on my friend Marsha's blog, MJStyle last December click here for the recipe. There will also be a fresh salad with home made ranch dressing along with either a rice dish or maybe Boursoin Potatoes. I'll work on the recipe for those potatoes as they are also Honey's favs.
As soon as Christmas was over I started working on the table setting for NYE. As with Christmas, I've also mixed golds and silvers for this table.

I have to admit that I have been mentally planning this tablescape all year long. Each time clocks went on sale at Pier 1 I picked up a couple. We always have these small clocks with the stones and they just look so festive to me. They match perfectly with the table scatter of rhinestones you also see on the table runner.

The wedding china always make an appearance on NYE. My pattern is a Lenox Presidential pattern and will always be available fortunately!

The party poppers were from last season on clearance! Love when I get a good deal on something I was gonna buy anyway!

How To Use the Same Charger Creating Different Looks

Creating fun tablescapes has long been a hobby of mine. Since it is Christmas time and everyone is very careful about spending too much extra $$ I'd like to share how I used the same charger for both a very formal look and casual look. As soon as I saw these chargers in the Pier 1 planner in early fall I knew I'd have to have them.

Initially, I'll admit that I only saw them with my everyday dishes. Once I got the plaid chargers home I happened to pull out my Christmas china and as they sat beside each other it hit me, maybe that was also an option. I'll start with the informal dishes. My everyday dishes are your basic creamy white in color. They go with everything!

Also notice the green rattan charger, when I started working on this I didnt even recall these placemats. It wasn't until I went looking for my napkins that I saw those. Before I found these I was also looking at a simple round green placemat from Pier 1 that happens to be almost the same color. The same look could have been achieved with those round placemats!

We are not huge entertainers until December rolls in. Since we have multiple dinners that often include the same yet different people, I want the table setting to be fresh and new each time. Now as a side note, this isn't the only table setting that I will be sharing the Christmas china in.

My initial concern was would the plaid be too casual to use my formal Christmas china with. The second I sat the dinner plate on the charger the answer was NO!

Resting a very formal napkin with a gold thread, I placed the napkin vertically on the charger. It worked to soften both the charger and the plate.

Along with adding softness, I believe it broke up the plaid just a bit. The colors of both the charger and the plates marry very well. All that was left for me to do was add a few others elements to the table. Fresh greenery from the yard along with the lantern, mercury glass taper holder and the gorgeous pair of pierced candle holders finish the table off.

Using the same chargers absolutely saved me money and space(storage)while creating 2 very lovely table settings. I'd love to know ways you've used home decor in multiple ways to save!

Reindeer Recipe Tour {New Year's Eve Dining Table}

Gosh ya'll I can hardly believe this is our last post of the Reindeer Recipes Tour. I've had an absolute blast pouring over all the delicous recipes and gorgeous home decor that have been featured the past few weeks. Well today will not disappoint I promise! If you've popped over from Totally Tailgates, I'm so glad you've stopped by! Today I'm sharing my New Year's Eve dining table.

On New Year's Eve we typically stay home. That doesn't mean we aren't celebrating in high style though! We usually have a few friends over and I aim to impress....and make it not feel like we've stayed in for the night! I adore a glamorous looking NYE table. This year I selected silver and gold to glam up the dining room.

Our wedding china, Montclair by Lenox is what I always use on this holiday. It pairs well with almost any color for any ocassion. The gold mercury glass candlesticks were a clearance purchase from Pier 1 Imports and I've had them absolutely all over the house this season!

For the centerpiece I wanted something totally clean so, I filled one of my crystal bowls with silver and gold party poppers.

The table runner was a find at Target many years ago. I've complimented the china with silver chargers that you can find anywhere. On the captains seats I've paired the silver charger with a silver placemat, another great find after the season at Pier 1 last year!

Dotting the tablescape are various silver and mercury glass candle holders.

The pair of silver candle holders stay on the dining table year round but look especially gorgeous on NYE. The napkins along with the napkin rings are also from Pier 1...ya'll remember I work there and get a fabulous discount that I always pair with a sale! Our wedding crystal doesn't see much time out of the china cabinet but NYE they get the call! The crystal is King Edward by Gorham.
With all of that planned out I am ready to ring in the New Year! Here's hoping that someone on the blog hop has something delicious I can serve up!
