Home Tour

Welcome to Positively Southern!

In January 2007, we moved back home to Auburn after having lived away for over 17 years.  The housing market was booming. The home we were leaving in Savannah went in to contract in 14 days which put me in a time crunch to find a house in Auburn.  After a weekend of house hunting and crying all the way back to Savannah, Honey took it upon himself to find a house and this is the one he picked.  For a moment I wanna be real with ya'll...I hated it.  It has taken many years to be able to say I even like it.  It was so vastly different from the dream house I was leaving in Savannah.  There are still countless things I'd change but for now it is home!

Here is the before. This house had no shutters, this still baffles me.

Here is the after.  This was taken about 10 weeks after moving in.  Notice the shutters we added, that alone made a huge difference.  The landscape design company really amped up the curb appeal with the landscaping.

The Foyer was fine and just needed a little updating in paint colors.

The living room had the most dramatic makeover.  The picture quality isn't great on the before shot but it was the only one I could scrounge up.  Note the wall the sofa table is on.

This house desperately needed storage and display space.  The plans that were used in our home in Oklahoma were doomed to be repeated!  This might be my fav room in the house.  The way the sunlight floods the room makes my heart sing.   Before there were solid panel doors where the french doors are now.
