The Back Hall

One of the most used areas of our home is the back hallway.  It is a narrow space, only 48 inches wide. In addition to the narrow hallway, I should mention all the doors swing into the hall.  While the white bead board on the walls of the hallway were already in the house I have to say it is a genius idea.  When we moved in the boys were very young, the bead board is the perfect solution  for little boy hand prints, a very easy clean up!

When we first moved in I knew I'd want some piece of furniture or a coat rack at least.  Everything that I had was too wide.  So I dashed to Pier 1 Imports (long before I started working there) and found a console table that would work.

The runner was a find at a thrift store for a whopping 8 bucks!  Be sure and notice the lidded basket beside the table, this is where the kids toss their shoes

The print was a gift from Bestie Donna when we moved from Savannah. The print is of my fav place in Savannah, Forsyth Park.   After we got settled in I knew it would fit perfect in this space so, I had it framed and matted at Hobby Lobby.

The blue and white lamp has been all over this house, even spent the last year in the closet.  I picked it up at a quaint little shop while on vacation in St. Simons Island.  The chinoise jar I found recently at Scott's for a deal so sweet I still can't believe it...$10!!!!  The books were gifts from Honey from various occasions and they are topped with a silver dish filled with my fav potpourri, Claire Burke Original.

During winter months I do consider at least having hooks on the wall for our coats but my fear is that it would make the space visually cluttered.  No need for winter coats at the moment...it is a balmy 94 degrees today!
