Wintery Tablescape

In case you haven't realized, I'm that person that wants to find multiple uses for whatever I buy with home decor being no exception.  As I looked and shopped for this season's table decor I kept in mind that I need linens that weren't just for Christmas. This table runner certainly fits the bill for a winter look.  Amazingly, it  also works well with my non seasonal decor and will transfer splendidly into January.

The galvanized chargers and snowflake placemats I've had for a few years and are from Pier 1 Imports.  The wreaths and white birch candles, from JoAnn Stores complete the winter look.

Let's talk about napkins!!! Y'all I love anything that is scalloped...potatoes, the top of my wedding dress and most especially these napkins also from Pier 1.  The tassels are everything!!!  The napkin rings soften the look with the delicate flower.

The grey salad plate has been on my wish list for a few months and it paired wonderfully with the grey in the table runner.

I'm off to cook the main course for our Jingle and Mingle Christmas tour that starts December 13, you will not wanna miss the recipe for a roasted pork tenderloin, it is delicious and easy!!

A Silver and Gold Christmas Tablescape

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us I am so excited to bring on Christmas!!!  Ya'll know that I love a tablescape and especially at Christmas time. This might be my all time fav Christmas tablescape ever!  I always adore mixing silver and gold pieces, so that is exactly what I did!

As I began to gather pieces from my inventory aka stash, I knew that I wanted the silver/gold magnolia placemat to be a base, but it still felt like it needed more so I added the silver and gold placemat boards that you all have seen numerous times.  I started building from that point.

Inside each box that sits on the salad plate guests will find a small treat.  These boxes are from Pier 1 and are available in silver and gold.

Our wedding china, Montclair by Lenox anchors most of my place settings this season as the Christmas tree decor doesn't lend very well to reds this year.

After much debate I made the decision to keep the place settings as a focal point and to just use my silver candle holders as the only centerpiece.

This tablescape will welcome my girlfriends early this next week!  My goal is to always make those that I'm close to feel as special as possible!

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo

I'm just curious, raise your hands if you know why Cinco de Mayo is celebrated.   If you don't know let me enlighten you.  May 5th is celebrated because of an unlikely victory the Mexican Army had over French forces on May 5, 1862 at the Battle of Puebla.  So there...the more you know right?

Tablescapes At Montgomery Antiques

Last week I popped into Montgomery Antiques to take a peek and see what was new since my last visit.  They always have such fabulous pieces in their store.  This trip in they were hosting their annual tablescapes around the store.  Should you live in proximity to Montgomery, AL and love a tablescape this  event is not to be miss!

New Year's Eve Tablescape 2017

It has been several years since we rang in the New Year any where other than home.  Since we are almost always home we typically invite friends over for dinner.  This year I've already started planning the food along with the tablescape.

There is a dish that Honey simply loves called Party Chicken.  I shared the recipe on my friend Marsha's blog, MJStyle last December click here for the recipe.  There will also be a fresh salad with home made ranch dressing along with either a rice dish or maybe Boursoin Potatoes.  I'll work on the recipe for those potatoes as they are also Honey's favs.
As soon as Christmas was over I started working on the table setting for NYE.  As with Christmas, I've also mixed golds and silvers for this table.

  

 I have to admit that I have been mentally planning this tablescape all year long.  Each time clocks went on sale at Pier 1 I picked up a couple.  We always have these small clocks with the stones and they just look so festive to me.  They match perfectly with the table scatter of rhinestones you also see on the table runner.

 The wedding china always make an appearance on NYE.  My pattern is a  Lenox Presidential pattern and will always be available fortunately!

The party poppers were from last season on clearance!    Love when I get a good deal on something I was gonna buy anyway!

Falling for Fall with a Tablescape

Never ever have a made it a secret that I'm not a fan of fall...say what?!  Except this year I may have made a switch in regards for falling for fall.  While at work one day I did find inspiration that gave me a nudge to pull my fall pieces out and pick up a few new things to create a tablescape.

The patina on the copper lantern adds to the colors of any fall palette.  Putting the almost white pillar holder inside the lantern brightens it up.  Inside the lantern I add a fall napkin ring to soften the visual hardness of the lantern. 

The table runner I've had for several years and is still sold at Pier 1 Imports.  It is one of my most often used runners since it is so versatile. 

The faux pumpkins were a budget friendly find at WalMart.  The salad plates are  from the Better Homes and Garden collection at WalMart but were purchased many years ago.

Those napkins!! Ya'll they were on clearance at Pier 1 for all of .68 aren't they perfect for this time of the year?!

In spite of my not so favorite time of the year I will admit that I have loved having these fall touches on the kitchen table!
