The Dining Room Dressed For Christmas

Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely love dishes...aka china?  My dear Mother in Law always says she can make me happy by giving me a plate!  She couldn't be more right.  That being said I must up front give thanks to Pie(MIL) for gifting me an eight place setting of  Holiday Lenox Christmas china.  .

The dining room is where I always like a very formal look and this gorgeous china delivers!  To be honest with ya'll, I deliberated over weeks as to which charger to would use and had pulled out a different one but when I saw the china atop the gold charger there was no doubt that was the one.  I added a red napkin to soften the place setting and give contrast.

For whatever reason I fret over the centerpiece regardless of where it is and this one was no different. There are two different pairs of  Lenox candleholders, both were wedding gifts 24 years ago.  You never go wrong using magnolia leaves anywhere in a southern home so I just clipped a few from the yard and tossed those in. I added some glimmer strings from Pier 1 Imports...if you don't have any...rush..right now to your local store and get some...they are fab!  The hurricanes go way back to the mantle of our first home in 1998, glad to have those see the light of day.  For something I worried and wondered about for weeks it sure did turn out pretty I think!

The place settings on either end of the table are dressed with a red beaded placemat, along with the gold charger.  I had a fit over these at Pier 1 when they came in and knew I had to have those (thank  goodness for an employee discount).

It was love at first sight when I saw those beaded Christmas tree napkin rings last year!

Had to show you these gorgeous table runners without the chairs in front of them.

The Christmas tree that I put up in the dining room changes from year to year.  This year it was all about gold and cream.

I will leave you with a candlelight view of the table as it will look when we dine on Christmas Eve.
