Up Close & Personal

It is an known fact that I adore any and all things coastal.  While on my recent trip to Saint Simons Island, I happened upon the annual arts and crafts show.  As I strolled through the many vendors that were selling their wares I spied something familiar. As I  approached an artist's booth and began to swoon over the most gorgeous works of art that all had a coastal flair.  I knew this artist...not really... but I had bought his work before.  In fact his Marsh Study inspired my entire Coastal Inspired Guest Bedroom.

Trying to contain my excitement, I asked the man if he was THE Charles Leonard....why yes, I am he says...you would have thought I had just met Keith Urban they way I behaved!  Immediately I began to tell him how fabulous his work was and where I had seen it and what I had bought already!  He was pleased of course to hear such a rave review of his work.  We talked about familiar places in Effingham County, Georgia(we lived there, twice) and what we loved about that area, it is safe to say I made a friend.   I think we both knew I wasn't gonna leave empty handed.
He helped me pick out the perfect piece.

Of course before I walked away with my blue heron I ask if I could take his pic for my blog he happily agreed and even suggested that we should take one together!  Should you all want to race over to his website, just click here.

Now don't judge my hair or the lack of mascara...I was headed to the water park on nearby Jekyll Island so there was no need at all to "get fixed up."
