Happy Blogging Anniversary to Me

It occurred to me a couple hours ago, in the car rider pick up line at the jr high that today 2 years ago I pressed publish on this blog.  It seems absolutely unreal to me that 2 years have passed.  While I sat waiting for the bell to ring it gave me time to think about all that blogging has brought to my personal life.
When I first found out about blogs, I faithfully read Kim's Savvy Southern Style and Yvonne's Stone Gable, their style was very much like my style in terms of decor.  It was my pleasure to meet both of them my first year at Haven.  They were my must meets that year at Haven.  They even posed for a pic with me.

Last Spring, after a year of blogging one of my post was the most viewed on Kim's WOW us on Wednesdays Link Party.  Talk about a highlight of my blogging days!

Another blog that I found some way in those first few months of looking at blogs was Amanda's Dixie Delights.  I felt this kinship to her that I truly can't explain....maybe it was that she was from Savannah and I had lived in Savannah, she has 2 darling boys and I have 2 teenage boys that I wouldn't describe now as darling, she likes to decorate with a bit of a coastal flair and I love to decorate with a coastal flair...you get the point.  This past year on my second trip to Haven, she was there also.  From across the room I saw her and made a bee line straight to her...I'm certain I scared her with my excitement over actually seeing her and crazy as this sounds....hearing her voice.

Ya'll she is absolutely precious!!!   Just last week while I was scrolling one of Amanda's blog post there it was...she had featured my fav spot...*squeal*...pinch me ya'll...a pic of my spot in my house was on her blog!  This was it!

No doubt that was a highlight in my blogging career too!

Of all the experiences I've had this last 2 years, my fav and long lasting was meeting my blogging BFF...Kathy from Southern Style Southern Charm.
And here we are right after we met for the first time.

There isn't a hardly a day that goes by that we don't talk, even if it is just for 5 minutes or less.   We plan out many blog posts during one of our morning chats and bounce lots of ideas off each other. My life is better just by being able to call her my friend!

I'd like to say thanks to all of you that check in often and follow this little blog! So, I think I'd like to leave you all with my original blog post from February 9, 2013.

Greetings Ya'll

In the fall of 2011, Bestie K introduced me to the world of blogging.  I had absolutely no idea that women were online talking about and posting pictures of their homes, not to mention their day to day lives with their families.  Almost immediately my friend said, “you should do this.”  So, here I am finally doing “this.”

I’m Tamyra.  Growing up in the south, I would have never dreamed that I would live all over the United States. Living in so many different states has made me appreciate southern life.  The one place that has touched my heart has been the Georgia Coast.  Although we don’t live there, you will surely see a coastal influence in our home.  I’m a mother of 2 boys and a wife of 22 years.  I positively adore the beach, shrimp, cherry sodas, boys in pink shirts, throwing parties, Spanish moss dripping from oak trees, country music, college football, home décor, and most of all my family.

  1. Congratulations on two wonderful years! You were so sweet to be so concerned about me at the Haven conference when I had car trouble and last year when my glasses lost a screw! I have already purchased my ticket for this year and plan to have a new car and new glasses before making the trip!
