On this very cold day here in Alabama, a balmy 14 degrees as I type this, I thought I'd share my final post on Sweet Home Plantation. These photos were taken last summer when the grass was green and everything was in full bloom at the gorgeous, historic home. Don't you just adore this arbor that greets guests?!
Clearly, this photo is not in the summer but was taken this past December while we were shopping their tent sale. The side view of the home shows what I am sure was an addition of an indoor kitchen along with a laundry room and powder room. Years ago in the South, kitchens were separate from the home. The foliage in this view is reminiscent of what I can only imagine an English garden might be like. At any rate it is fantastic to walk around to the front of the home via a brick pathway.
Other than the ocean nothing soothes my soul as much as seeing Spanish Moss dripping from oak trees. This view is from the side of the house looking toward the arbor.
This must be a wonderful spot to sit on a summer's afternoon sipping on iced tea or your fav libation.
I sincerely hope that you have enjoy my little series of Sweet Home Plantation. Many thanks to Bruce and Phil for allowing me to invade their little slice of heaven. Again, be sure and check out their website by clicking on this link, Sweet Home Plantation. The home and grounds is available for weddings and receptions and is only an hour from Atlanta.
